While our UUs of Greater Pittsburgh church buildings remain mostly closed due to Covid-19 precautions, several of our worship teams are collaborating to create a weekly shared pulpit or common worship experience where all are welcome - Greater Pittsburgh UUs, free-range UUs, moved away folks, seekers, anyone can join. Some congregations are also hosting their own fellowship time after the shared time ends. And some congregations are still offering their own weekly or occasional worship as their size and resources allow.

10:30 AM - First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh ' ‘The Wind in the Willows’ – A Sacred Text for the Season' led by Erica Shadowsong youtu.be/-HXK-Mvfvus
The season between the winter solstice and the spring equinox, often called Imbolc by pagans, is usually thought of as a season of purification. What relevance can that have for us today? 'The Wind in the Willows' is a beloved classic that brilliantly and lovingly connects with the seasons of the earth and our lives, in the stories of Rat, Mole, Badger, and Toad. In particular, this text captures the inexplicable spirit of this time of emergence from the doldrums of winter in a way that can be spiritually compelling as much as it is joyful. Join in marking the season of purification in a celebration and exploration through reflecting on one of the most beloved books of all time, for all ages!

Whatever we can imagine is the world we can work toward becoming. What we can imagine becomes story, myth, legend, and motivation. Imagination becomes the science fiction and fantasy that drive our empathy and our willingness to work for justice. In remembering, the tragedy of the AIDS pandemic, celebrating the courage of Act Up and other queer activsts, and recalling the boldness of those who landed on the moon 50 years ago this week, our common thread is the hope of the world they all believed could be brought into being by our choices. Today, we remember, and we set our own imagination to work figuring out our course for the years to come.
